The most important thing you’ll check on today for your marketing!
I’m not joking! The most important thing you can do all day is to make sure your website has a Facebook pixel on it.
A what? Yep, a Pixel. So… You know how you’ll be shopping on a site and then 4 hours later get a Facebook or Instagram ad for what you were looking at earlier? That’s the perfect example of what a Pixel can do.
First: add this Chrome extension and see if there’s a pixel on your site. It’s great to leave installed and interesting to see who has a Pixel on their site 👀 and who doesn’t!
If there is, GREAT! You’re set. Even if you don’t want to do ads today, you can always retarget people who have been to your website the last 180 days.
If there isn’t- that’s okay! Here’s how to add a pixel to your site: First, make a Business Manager account at business.facebook.com (it’s a little time in the beginning, but will pay off as you grow your business and hire out ads and other marketing tasks).
Next, go to the Events Manager.
Click Connect Data Sources and select Web.
Select Facebook Pixel and click Connect.
Add your Pixel Name. Keep it simple. Ex: Jordan Rothwell’s Pixel
Enter your website URL to check for easy setup options. Squarespace is easy to connect via Partner Integration! For Show It and Kartra you’ll need to manually add it to each page which is a bummer but not too big of a deal. WordPress has a plug-in you can use.
Click Continue.
Then you’ll add the Pixel to your site via Partner Integration or by manually adding the code and it’ll start tracking!
